Steps to make Creamy Rotel and Velveeta Dip:
  1. Cook hamburger and sausage with onions until fully cooked and drain. Crumble meats or what ever size you desire.
  2. Cut the loaf of velveeta cheese into cubes and add to a crock pot or deep sided sauce pan.
  3. On low heat melt the cheese. Stir often to keep from sticking. If using crock pot you can add all of the ingredients and just stir occationally.
  4. When cheese has melted and is smooth and creamy, add the meat and onion mixture and rotel tomatoes with chilies and black pepper. Stir well.
  5. Keep on low temperature and serve warm with favorite chips or corn chips.
  6. I sometimes add a little milk to thin out the dip, but you do not have to. I just like it thin.
  7. Servings vary depending on amount you dip out. But it makes a lot. You can always cut the recipe in half if you do not have a crowd to feed. I usually make this for football or potluck dinners.

Try Using Food to Improve Your Mood

Mostly, people have been taught to think that “comfort” foods are not good for the body and need to be avoided. Sometimes, if the comfort food is candy or some other junk food, this is very true. Other times, though, comfort foods can be totally healthy and it’s good for you to eat them. There are several foods that, when you consume them, could better your mood. If you feel a little bit down and you need an emotional pick me up, try some of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, can be truly great at dealing with depression. Just be sure that you do not toss the egg yolk. When you want to cheer yourself up, the egg yolk is the most important part of the egg. Eggs, the egg yolks in particular, are loaded with B vitamins. B vitamins can actually help you elevate your mood. This is because they improve the function of your brain’s neural transmitters (the parts of the brain that tell you how to feel). Consume an egg and be happy!

Make several trail mix of nuts or seeds. Almonds, cashews, peanuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and so on are all helpful for raising your mood. This is because these foods are high in magnesium, which helps to boost serotonin levels. Serotonin is the “feel good” chemical substance that directs your brain how you feel at all times. The more serotonin you have, the happier you will feel. Nuts, along with bettering your mood, can be a super source of protein.

If you would like to battle depression, you should eat some cold water fish. Tuna, trout, mackerel, herring and wild salmon are all rich in omega-3 fatty acids and DHA. Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA are two things that raise the quality and the function of your brain’s gray matter. It’s true: chomping on a tuna fish sandwich can really help you overcome depression.

Grains can be great for driving away a terrible mood. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all actually excellent for helping boost your happiness levels. They fill you up better and that can help you with your moods also. It’s not hard to feel low when you are starving! The reason these grains are so good for your mood is that they are not difficult to digest. They are simpler to digest than other foods which helps kick up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, improves your mood.

Green tea is really excellent for your mood. You were sure it had to be included in this article, right? Green tea is loaded with an amino acid known as L-theanine. Studies prove that this specific amino acid can basically stimulate brain waves. This will better your brain’s focus while simultaneously calming the rest of your body. You probably already knew how easy it is to be healthy when you consume green tea. Now you know green tea can help improve your mood also!

As you can see, you don’t need to eat all that junk food when you wish to feel better! Try some of these instead!
