The ingredients needed to make Chicken Tikka Masala:
  1. Get 2 tbls butter or ghee
  2. Prepare 1 onion, finally chopped
  3. Prepare 1/2 red bell pepper, chopped
  4. Prepare 1/2 yellow bell pepper, chopped
  5. Prepare 4 cloves garlic, minced
  6. Get 1 tbls ground cumin
  7. Take 1 tsp salt
  8. Get 1 tsp ground ginger
  9. Make ready 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  10. Prepare 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  11. Take 1/4 tsp tumeric
  12. Prepare 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
  13. Make ready 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  14. Get 2 tsp paprika
  15. Make ready 1 tbls white sugar
  16. Make ready 1 tbls vegetable oil
  17. Prepare 2 skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into bite size pieces
  18. Take 1/2 tsp curry powder
  19. Prepare 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste (optional)
  20. Prepare 1 tsp white sugar, or to taste (optional)
  21. Prepare Chopped cilantro (optional)

Instructions to make Chicken Tikka Masala:
  1. Heat butter or ghee in a large skillet over medium heat and cook onion, peppers until onions are translucent, about 5 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a separate skillet over medium heat. Stir chicken into hot oil, sprinkle with curry powder and sear chicken until lightly browned but still pink inside, about 3 minutes, stir often.
  3. Stir in garlic, and stir until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir in cumin, 1 tsp salt, ginger, cayenne, cinnamon and tumeric, fry until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, bring to a boil, and reduce heat to low. Simmer sauce for 10 minutes, then mix in cream, paprika and 1 tbls sugar. Bring sauce back to a simmer and cook, stirring often, until sauce has thickened, 10-15 minutes.
  5. Transfer chicken and any pan juices Into the sauce. Simmer chicken in sauce until no longer pink. About 30 minutes. Adjust salt and sugar to taste.
  6. Serve over basmati or jasmine rice. Top with chopped cilantro.
  7. Note: sugar is optional in this recipe. The bell peppers (to me) add enough sweetness. You can also adjust the cayenne level to your liking. The heavy cream really tames down the heat.
  8. Enjoy!!

This is because seeds and nuts have lots of magnesium which raises your brain’s serotonin levels. Serotonin is a feel-good chemical substance that tells the brain how to feel at any given point in time. The more serotonin in your brain, the happier you’ll feel. Not only that, nuts, in particular, are a great source of protein.

Cold water fish are good if you would like to be in a better mood. Cold water fish including tuna, trout and wild salmon are high in DHA and omega-3 fatty acids. These are two things that promote the quality and the function of your brain’s grey matter. It’s the truth: eating tuna fish sandwiches can really help you fight your depression.

Grains can be excellent for overcoming a terrible mood. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all really excellent for helping boost your happiness levels. These grains can help you feel full for longer also, which can help your mood too. It’s not difficult to feel low when you feel hungry! These grains can elevate your mood as it’s not at all difficult for your body to digest them. These foods are easier to digest than others which helps kick start a rise in your blood sugar which in turn takes your mood to a happier place.
