Steps to make Deep Fried Chicken Tenders My Way:
  1. Get a large pot and fill it about half way with the Canola oil. Set heat to medium.
  2. Rinse and cut the chicken breasts into strips, to desired thickness. (I find slicing against the grain works pretty well.)
  3. Fill one plate with the flour, another with the Panko and a bowl with the eggs and milk. Stir the eggs and milk together.
  4. Dip all the chicken strips into the egg wash, then place into a freezer bag.
  5. Add the black pepper, seasoned salt, garlic powder and cayenne pepper to the bag and shake as much as needed to evenly coat the chicken.
  6. By the handful, dip the chicken into the flour, then the egg wash again and finally the Panko. Continue this process until all the chicken is breaded.
  7. Turn up the heat a notch, insure your oil is hot enough and then fry the tenders up. Generally it takes five to ten minutes per batch but use your judgment.
  8. Serve with honey mustard or BBQ sauce for dipping and a side of garlic fries and green beans. Enjoy!!

Foods That Make Your Mood Better

A lot of us believe that comfort foods are bad for us and that we ought to avoid them. At times, if your comfort food is basically candy or other junk foods, this can be true. At times, comfort foods can be utterly healthy and good for us to eat. There are several foods that actually can raise your moods when you consume them. When you feel a little down and are needing an emotional boost, test out some of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, can be actually great at fighting back depression. Just be sure that you do not throw away the yolk. The egg yolk is the most essential part of the egg iwhen it comes to helping you cheer up. Eggs, the yolks especially, are high in B vitamins. B vitamins can be great for raising your mood. This is because they help in improving the function of your neural transmitters, the parts of your brain that dictate your mood. Eat an egg and jolly up!

Make a trail mixfrom a variety of seeds and nuts. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and so on are all fantastic for helping to elevate your mood. This is because these foods are rich in magnesium, which helps to raise serotonin production. Serotonin is called the “feel good” chemical substance and it tells your brain how you should be feeling all the time. The more serotonin you have, the better you are going to feel. Nuts, on top of elevating your mood, can be a great protein source.

If you want to beat depression, you should eat some cold water fish. Salmon, herring, tuna, mackerel, trout, and so on, they’re all high in omega-3 and DHA. DHA and omega-3s are two things that raise the quality and the function of your brain’s gray matter. It’s true: chomping on a tuna fish sandwich can actually help you fight depression.

It’s easy to overcome your bad mood when you eat grains. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all really excellent for helping increase your happiness levels. They fill you up better and that can help elevate your moods too. Feeling famished can be a real downer! The reason these grains are so great for your mood is that they are not hard for your body to digest and process. You digest these foods more quickly than other foods which can help boost your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel more pleasant, mood wise.

Your mood can really be helped by green tea. You were just expecting to read that here, weren’t you? Green tea is rich in an amino acid known as L-theanine. Studies have found that this particular amino acid can essentially stimulate brain waves. This will better your brain’s focus while at the same loosening up the rest of your body. You probably already knew it is not difficult to get healthy when you drink green tea. Now you know that it helps you to elevate your moods as well!

As you can see, you don’t have to turn to junk food or foods that are terrible for you just so to feel better! Test out these tips instead!
