  1. Get 2 Piece Hilsa fish head
  2. Make ready 200 gm Kochu Shaak
  3. Get 2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  4. Make ready to taste Salt
  5. Get 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds/ Jeera
  6. Make ready Mustard Oil
  7. Prepare 1 Tsp Gur

Instructions to make Ilish Maacher Matha Diye Kochu Shaak:
  1. Chop the Kochu Shaak into fine pieces. Put it in pan. Add salt and turmeric powder. Boil it till the shaak softens.
  2. Set it aside.
  3. Now pour mustard oil in pan. Temper the oil with 1 tsp Cumin seeds/ Jeera. Put the Kochu Shaak.
  4. Saute for few minutes.
  5. Set the shaaak aside again.
  6. Fry hilsa fish heads in the same oil.
  7. Break the fish heads into shreds.
  8. Put the shaak.
  9. Add salt to taste, turmeric powder and 1 tsp Gur.
  10. Mix everything.
  11. Cook for few minutes till the fish heads gets mixed well with the shaak.
  12. Add dollops of mustard oil and finish cooking
