The ingredients needed to make Festive potato salad:
  1. Prepare 1 medium potato per person ( I used six small this time )
  2. Take 2 medium boiled eggs diced
  3. Take 1 small diced red onion (about 1/2 cup +/-)
  4. Make ready 1/4 cup diced sweet pepper (any color)
  5. Prepare 1/4 cup shredded carrot
  6. Take 1/4 cup diced celery
  7. Get 1/2 cup frozen sweet peas, rinsed and shaken dry
  8. Get 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish (or dill, whatever you prefer)
  9. Make ready 2/3 cup miracle whip (mayonnaise if you prefer)
  10. Prepare salt and pepper to taste

A tip from the Test Kitchen: If your potatoes are taking longer to roast, keep them going before adding. This is the potato salad I grew up with! It's simple, not fancy at all, and just plain good! I don't chop potatoes before I boil them for potato salad.

Instructions to make Festive potato salad:
  1. Wash potatoes. Place with eggs in large pot cover with water. Bring to boil. Boil until potatoes are fork tender.
  2. Remove potatoes from pan. Scrape off skin. Cut into quarters, then 1" pieces. Peel eggs, slice or dice.
  3. Put all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix together. Add salt and pepper to taste. If not wet enough add miracle whip / mayo a tablespoon at a time until the consistency you like.
  4. Refrigerate a couple of hours for cooling and flavors to meld.
  5. Actually makes about 5 cups following the recipe.

It's simple, not fancy at all, and just plain good! I don't chop potatoes before I boil them for potato salad. I always boil them in their jackets. This is my favorite Potato Salad! Not just because it's a super festive Potato Salad recipe for the season, but because it's absolutely and utterly delicious!

This is because these nuts are high in magnesium, which helps to boost serotonin levels. Serotonin is the “feel good” natural substance that tells your brain how you feel all the time. The more serotonin in your brain, the better you’ll feel. Not just that, nuts, in particular, are a fantastic protein source.

If you wish to overcome depression, you should eat some cold water fish. Tuna, trout, mackerel, herring and wild salmon are all rich in omega-3s and DHA. These are two substances that increase the quality and function of the gray matter in your brain. It’s true: consuming a tuna fish sandwich can seriously raise your mood.

It’s not hard to fight your bad mood when you eat grains. Barley, millet, quinoa, etc are great at helping you be happier. These grains can help you feel full for longer also, which is a mood improver. Feeling hungry can be terrible! The reason these grains are so good for your mood is that they are not difficult for your stomach to digest. You digest these grains quicker than other things which can help boost your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel happier, mood wise.

Green tea is really excellent for your mood. You were sure green tea had to be in this article somewhere, right? Green tea is high in a specific amino acid referred to as L-theanine. Studies show that this specific amino acid can basically induce brain waves. This will better your brain’s focus while also loosening up the rest of your body. You probably already knew it is not difficult to be healthy when you drink green tea. Now you are well aware that it helps you to raise your moods too!
