  1. Prepare 6 green bananas
  2. Take 2 Tomatoes
  3. Take 1 onion
  4. Get 1 large Carrot
  5. Make ready Green bell pepper(hoho)
  6. Take Oil
  7. Get to taste Salt
  8. Make ready 1/2 Knorr chicken cube

It refers to the cooked green bananas. This plantain grows in Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya among others. Vegetarian Matoke: Matoke is just as tasty when served as a vegetarian meal. Simply eliminate the beef and use water or vegetable stock.

Instructions to make Matoke fry #AuthorMarathon:
  1. Peel the bananas and wash with salty water. Chop the other vegetables.
  2. In a pan, sauté the onions and add the tomatoes, hoho. Stir until well done.
  3. Add in the green bananas together with the carrots. Salt to taste and stir well.
  4. Cook on medium heat. Add a little water, enough to cook them through. Add the chicken cube and stir well to incorporate it. Let them simmer until bananas are well done.
  5. Serve with rice and greens.
