Omega-3 fatty acids and DHA are two things that really help the grey matter in your brain function a lot better. It’s true: consuming a tuna fish sandwich can greatly elevate your mood.
It’s not difficult to overcome your bad mood when you are eating grains. Teff, barley, millet, quinoa, etc are all good for helping you feel better. They can help you feel full for longer as well, which is a mood improver. It’s easy to feel low when you feel hungry! The reason these grains are so good for your mood is that they are not difficult for your body to digest and process. They are simpler to digest than other foods which helps kick up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, improves your mood.
Green tea is truly good for your mood. You knew it had to be included in this article, right? Green tea is rich in a particular amino acid called L-theanine. Research has proven that this amino acid induces the production of brain waves. This helps better your mental acuity while having a relaxing effect on the rest of your body. You probably already knew it is not hard to become healthy when you consume green tea. And now you know green tea can help raise your mood as well!
